Higashi Honganji 東本願寺

Higashi Honganji is the name of the head temple of Otani-ha in Kyoto.
It is just 7 minutes' walk from the Kyoto station.

You can see Kyoto Tower over there.

Go into 阿弥陀堂門(Amida-dō Mon).

Next is 御影堂門(Goei-dō Mon).

Calm and tasteful!

Disaster relief money box for the aftermath of the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake and tsunami.

Tada~!
This is 御影堂(Goei-dō ; The Founder's Hall).
So huge and solemn.

A chōzuya(手水舎) is a religious water ablution pavilion for a ceremonial purification rite known as temizu.

Internal photography cannot be performed.

Actually, the site is very wide.
