Sensō-ji 浅草寺

Sensō-ji is the oldest Buddhist temple in Tokyo.
The huge red gate, the Kaminarimon is so famous among tourists.

This is the bottom part of a massive paper lantern dramatically painted in vivid red-and-black tones to suggest thunderclouds and lightning.
A paper lantern is folded only at the time of Sanja Matsuri and typhoon arrival.

Beyond the Kaminarimon, let's proceed to Nakamise-dori!

You can enjoy various yummy Japanese snacks.

This is the Hōzōmon which provides the entrance to the inner complex.

The bottom part again.

This is a stately five-story pagoda.

Wanna try O-mikuji?

If you wear the smoke from a censer, you will be smart.

Saisen again!
