Japanese traditional confectionery for spring

Sakuramochi is Japanese traditional confectionery for the cherry blossoms.
A sweet pink mochi(= rice cake) and red bean paste are covered with a leaf of sakura(=cherry blossom).
The sweet taste and the scent of a cherry tree reminds us of the lovely season.

Sakura mochi has some variations.
This is the Kansai-style sakura mochi.
The first one is Tokyo-style sakura mochi.

This is Kusa mochi.
It's also a seasonal dish for spring.
