Stanford Memorial Church

Stanford Memorial Church in campus of Stanford University is very beautiful church.
It was built by Jane Stanford in 1903 as a memorial to her husband Leland, who is the founder of Stanford University, and her son.

Look at the facade of the church!
More than 2200 colors of the mosaic art is at the front.
It is one of the mosaic arts which are used the most a lot of colors all over the U.S.

Stanford Memorial Church was the earliest and has been "among the most prominent" non-denominational churches on the West Coast of the United States.
Any religion can hold the congregation here.
Though there is a cross usually, the cross is detached at the meeting of the religion that doesn't use the cross and it is returned after ending.
